GOALS:

To obey the Great Commandment and the Great Commission to bring up our children in the Scripture; To give Christian students the ability to gain an education with a Bible centered curriculum; To produce a student educated in how the Bible is the best and most accurate prime Text for any subject matter; To develop a student that can handle life from a worldview based on teaching of Scripture rather than education based on humanism, atheism, and evolution.

PARENTAL PREREQUISITES:

Parents are required to be active in a Christian congregation in the area. The pastor of the parents will fill in a recommendation on the Registration Form showing that the parents or guardians are active and contributing in their congregation. Parents are welcome and requested to observe in the Learning Center.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS:

Students will be interviewed with the parents and expected to agree to be educated with methods and discipline according to the ACE system. All students will be placed on probation for one semester. No student will be allowed to re-register during the same school year that he/she has withdrawn from the Academy. Certain exceptions may apply.

BIBLICAL ABSOLUTES:

The basis of our teaching from Scripture is the sufficiency of the Blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse us from all sin; One God - the Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, resurrection, second coming, and eternal reign of Jesus Christ. The Bible is the Word of God. It is Inspired, Inerrant, Infallible, and is to be taught as the Key to all of Life. The Eagles Nest Christian Academy will admit students from any Bible based Christian background. The Academy will admit students from any ethnic group or nationality. The Academy will not allow proseletizing by any denomination or other unique group. It will not teach the doctrine of any denomination or creed. It will teach from Scripture only.

THE SCHOOL OF TOMORROW:

The ACE curriculum uses the Bible as the basis for instruction and lessons using Scripture are all through the material. Scripture is memorized and used for instruction through the PACEs. A PACE is similar to a workbook of material on a certain lesson of each subject. Each subject is made up of 12 PACEs. a Year's work in each subject  is considered to be the completion of 12 PACEs. More may be completed and ACE has found that a student can move slower or faster depending on his/her needs and may be able to complete high school one or more years in advance.

ACE operates a yearly regional competition in subjects from athletics, writing, drama, art, photography, industrial arts, crafts, singing, instruments, and much more. First, Second, and Third place winners of these events go to the international competition somewhere in the U.S. Students from ACE schools all over the world come to compete. The past sites for these international competitions have been Rutgers University in Pennsylvania and Northern Arizona University in  Flagstaff, Arizona, and other schools. Students  13 and up will be earning the funds to make the trip to state and international competitions.

Students who have completed school using the ACE curriculum have been tested using the same tests as public schools. Their average scores nationally have shown that they finish 10th grade having topped out the achievement tests with a score of 12.9. Colleges and universities (especially Christian) want students who have graduated from the ACE schools. They are readily admitted. Scholarship are also readily available. We have a list of these colleges that accept our graduates.  They include  Texas  A & M,   Baylor,  and  the University of Texas.

PERSONAL TESTIMONY TO THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE ACE CURRICULUM:

Our (the Ledbetters) youngest son finished the last six years of his schooling under the ACE curriculum at our church-school in Kemah, Texas. He was the first graduate of the school that our pastor and I began in 1984. "Graduate Emeritus". Glenn had extremely high grade averages and had blown the top out of the California achievement test when he took it in his sophomore (tenth grade) year.

After graduation, he went to work at a Christian boys' Ranch out of Uvalde, Texas, as a counselor. He had the responsibility of six boys from troubled backgrounds.

Glenn also attended the junior college in Uvalde. The registrar required that since he had graduated from a non-state accredited high school, he take the GED.  He could have gone straight into Baylor or A & M, but this little junior college required him to take their GED. He took it and scored FAR higher than any other student had ever scored. The registrar was impressed.

Glenn has gone on to finish college at Chadron State College in Nebraska and graduated Summa cum Laude. I think that means in the upper two percent of his class.  We are absolutely satisfied with Glenn's schooling from ACE. We heartily recommend it to any student, whether planning on college or not.

CAREER OR COLLEGE GOALS:

Those intending to go to work after graduation will be able to earn high school credit in several career fields. We will develop courses in the building trades and other career skills. We will work with area businesses to employ our students for portions of the school day and also work with businesses to hire our graduates.

Most Texas major colleges and universities are delighted to take ACE graduates with satisfactory SAT or ACT scores. They have seen that ACE grads already know how to study and make great grades. Many of these colleges and universities have full tuition scholarships available. We will help with recommendations.

FAIR WARNING TO PARENTS:

The ACE system is not permissive. It is a highly disciplined educational system. You, parents, will know about your child's progress daily. A daily goals card is filled in by each student. The student's goals for the day are shown and any incomplete goals are homework. The student should rarely have homework unless time has been wasted.

We will expect the student to develop SELF-discipline but we will help out if the student needs it. It doesn't take too many months before the undisciplined student catches on and begins to shine.

Parents expecting the Christian school to be a youth boot camp will be disappointed. The student will first have to be willing to be under a strict, disciplined system and to give his/her permission in writing before enrollment. All discipline done with students is Biblical in nature. The student will pray with the supervisor or counselor and parents will be notified of violations of rules. There will be demerits given that can cause the student to stay after school and more serious or repeated offenses may be dealt with by corporal discipline.  We will try to have the parent come and administer corporal discipline.  The "last resort" will be suspension or dismissal.

The system is not geared to "take them and educate them and sent them home". We believe that parents are the student's FIRST Teachers and we are the parents' Scriptural helpers in the educational process.
